Jake and his younger brother Kevin meet up with Derek at the local Mall. Jake has never shoplifted but peer pressure and rationalization work on his reasoning and he steals a pair of athletic shoes while Derek steals an athletic jersey. Hidden security cameras record the act and the boys are apprehended as they leave the store. The rest of the film shows how relationships can change, trust is lost and values broken as consequences of shoplifting. As the legal ramifications for this crime vary, the ending is left open so that facilitators can discuss how this offense would be handled in the local community.
