Homeless Youth Print Volunteer T-shirts for Project Homeless Connect!

For the past 4 years, youth at Elpis Enterprises have printed volunteer T-shirts for Project Homeless Connect as part of the job training and work experience program at Elpis Enterprises.  Youth train in the screen-printing shop and work on custom production jobs throughout their work experience program. In these tough economic times, homeless youth are creating their own jobs.  Youth in the Elpis program are working their way out of homelessness. 


Homeless youth teach students at Blake School how to build bird feeders!

Youth involved in the job training program at Elpis Enterprises will teach students at Blake School how to build different types of nesting boxes at the annual Legacy Day event on Friday, September 23rd. Elpis Enterprises is a 501(c)3 non-profit youth development organization that offers job training programs to homeless youth and youth at-risk of homelessness through 2 social enterprises.



Police Summer Youth Program Registration

Registration/sign-up for the Moorhead Police Department’s Summer Youth Program will be held on Wednesday June 15th at the Moorhead Armory (1002 15th Ave. N.) starting at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until the program is full or 7:00 p.m.  We are only able to accommodate a total of 200 youths ages 8-12 year olds so availability is on a first-come first-serve basis.  A parent or legal guardian must accompany their child at the time of registration.

Moorhead Forum To Shine Spotlight On Youth Bullying Issues

Violence is an issue that affects us all. School bullying is one form of violence, prevalent in all communities -- including those in the Fargo-Moorhead area -- with far reaching effects on public safety. Now the Minnesota Youth Intervention Programs Association (YIPA) will host a community forum on school bullying on Wednesday, May 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 pm. at the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead.
